State Representative George Cushingberry Jr. (D-Detroit) last week attended a memorial for Holocaust victims.
"The tragedy of the Holocaust is a reminder of just how destructive humanity can be," Cushingberry said. "So we don't repeat the mistakes of the past, we need to look at the past and analyze it. It breaks my heart to hear some of the stories told today, and the speakers here today are truly my heroes."
The 2009 Holocaust Commemoration Ceremony took place on April 21, 2009.
